BENEFITING: Pulmonary Hypertension Association Inc
EVENT: PH in the Park
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2015
My sister, Jennie Heineman, is living with Pumonary Arterial Hypertension and really needs a cure! Please, please join us in supporting research and physician/patient education about this disease.
Pulmonary hypertension is a rare, under-diagnosed, and often misdiagnosed disease. The disease causes high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, making it harder for the blood to flow through the lungs to pick up oxygen. When diagnosed in time, treatments can be administered that improve quality of life and may prolong it. At this time there is no cure; but we believe through research we will find the cure for PH.
Jennie was diagnosed and has been on IV therapy for 4.5 years. I'm proud to say we are learning to "live" with the disease, but we are hoping that one day she can live without it!
We appreciate your willingness to help us raise money and awareness to fight this disease. On behalf of PH patients, family members, caregivers and friends, we thank you for your participation and support in this annual event.
Join TeamJOE (Jennie, Owen and Eric), today! If you can't join us, please consider making a donation. We will have Team JOE shirts again for those walking. (email Jennie @ firstname.lastname@example.org your shirt sizes by AUGUST 31st.)
This event continues a unique collaboration between adult and pediatric centers. The University of Colorado Denver and Children’s Hospital Colorado are national and world leaders in PH research and patient care. As you may be aware, the University of Colorado at Denver and Children’s Hospital Colorado are located at the Anschutz Medical Campus, where over 1 million square feet of adult and pediatric research space has been completed, creating one of the largest healthcare research complexes in the world.
