THE STORY:

Can we donate $10 on your behalf to help keep Linmarie’s, a young woman lost to Germ Cell Cancer, memory alive? Linmarie was an avid rower and a smart, driven young woman who lost her battle with cancer back in 2014. Her parents, Ednaline and Jorge Concepcion along with other close friends, have been working hard to create awareness and fund Germ Cell Cancer research.  They collaborated with the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancel Center’s Hematology and Oncology Division to establish the LinmarieSTRONG Germ Cell Cancer Research Fund.

Germ cells are cells in the body that eventually develop into sperm and eggs.  The majority of germ cell cancerous tumors is testicular cancer and can develop in the ovaries or other parts of the body.  Since many of the patients with germ cell tumors are young, the urgency of advancing research for this type of cancer is magnified. The Linmarie Concepcion Memorial Charity has focused their efforts on helping the research program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Hospital “to help other families facing this disease have treatment options and hope,” says Linmarie’s mother, Ednaline.

“We are proud to be supporting this amazing organization, remembering Linmarie, and hopefully helping save the lives of other young members of our community facing Germ Cell Cancer.”
