2017 Riverkeeper Sweep
EVENT DATE: May 06, 2017
DEADLINE TO GIVE: May 15, 2017
Every day we benefit from living near the Hudson River-we benefit from its beauty, its wildlife, its recreational uses, and its inspiration. The Riverkeeper Sweep is one day to give back. Lend your support by contributing to our crowdrise campaign today. A donation of $50 can remove 262 pounds of trash from our shorelines. Please help us by making a donation, setting up your own team page to raise funds for the event, or by joining or donating to an existing team.
This year, as we reflect on the impact of the last five Sweeps (a combined 168 tons of shoreline debris removed), we are also looking to the future. We are excited to make this Sweep the biggest and best yet by partnering with more communities, schools, businesses, and organizations than ever.
Trash enters the Hudson River and its tributaries through a variety of sources, harming wildlife, threatening Public Health, and impacting the economic vitality of Hudson River Communities. Through advocacy, prevention, community education and stewardship, Riverkeeper is working towards a trash-free Hudson.
