SWEAT FOR CHANGE
Sweat once a day for 30 days and raise $10 a day for LKR
March 1 - March 30
We believe that profound global change happens when we begin with ourselves. Sweat for Change challenges individuals in community to commit to enriching their own well being by committing 30 days of sweat while raising $10/day for Little Kids Rock. While improving the quality of our individual lives, through yoga, hiking, spinning, etc, as a community we will help to bring music education to children all over Los Angeles.
Our goal this year is to raise $150,000 for Little Kids Rock through collective individual fundraising, matching donations, and a culminating Party For a Purpose during the month of March. These funds will provide 6000 children with musical instruments and bring music education to over 5000 schools in the Los Angeles area.
The Little Kids Rock Foundation is a national nonprofit that transforms children’s lives by restoring and revitalizing music education in disadvantaged public schools.
For the past 13 years, LKR has provided music instruction as well as instruments to over 325,000 underserved schoolchildren. Little Kids Rock trains public school teachers and donates all of the instruments and curricular resources schools need to run these programs at no cost to students, teachers, or school districts. This infrastructure supports lasting music education programs that are rooted in children’s knowledge of popular music forms such as rock, pop, blues, hip hop, country, reggae and R&B.
