Advanced Practice Nurses, SB 1079/HB2009 has received an "extension" and the bill needs a final push from nurses across the state and nation. The bill will remove regulatory barriers to allow NPs and CRNAs to practice to the full extent of their education and training. It is supported by the FTC, IOM, AANP, NAPNAP, AANA, and multiple other organizations. MA is one of only 6 states where nursing practice is regulated by the Board of Medicine and the Board of Nursing. We need your financial support and vocal support to see this bill move to law. The ultimate beneficiary is the patient and if the bill is passed the implications of the bill will save the state billions of dollars, improve access to quality and safe care provided by NPs and CRNAs, and stimulate innovation in health care delivery models.
