Summer Soccer Fest
EVENT DATE: Aug 11, 2017
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Aug 20, 2017
The Greenbsoro United Soccer Foundation is hosting its second Summer Soccer Fest. Participating players are raising money for local non-profits, as well as helping to pay for their soccer journey. Last year players raised $30,000 and help provide teams with just over $15,000 in financial support. Guilford Special Olympics also received a check for $3500 for their programs. This year players will create their own online fundraising page and will have 25% of what they raise applied to their fees. An additional 25 % will be divided between the Special Olympics, Center for New North Carolinians (which provides support for refugees relocated to Greensboro) and third local non-profit to be named following a fall grant process.
Players will participate in small sided games on August 11th during their age groups assigned hours. The park will also have food trucks, music, bubble soccer and other fun games.
-The two top earning GUSA teams will win a free registration for a Greensboro United tournament. Given that teams may have a different number of players on their roster, these prizes are based on the total a team raises divided by their roster size.
-The top 5 individual fundraisers will also receive monetary prizes towards club fees.
-All participants will receive a Marathon tee.
-All participants who raise over $150 will receive a BLUE Soccer Foundation hat.
-All participants who raise over $300 will receive a Soccer Foundation 30 oz. Tumbler.
