Cancer is one of the reasons why I locked arms with Beautycounter. I've watched people close to me loose there battle with cancer. Watch children undergo surgeries and chemotherapy. Lost family members and friends to the disease. I want to have a positive impact on this world and I know that locking arms with this cause is a step in that direction. Since 1975, childhood cancer has increased by 20%. Although all cancer is devasting, this is just a statistic that is truly very sad. Lets stand up.
Today, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. 40 years ago that stat was 1 in 20. Of the women today who are diagnosed with breast cancer, 90% do not have a mutation in the BRCA gene, the gene most commonly associated with breast cancer - so this dramatic increase isn't soley based on an increase in early detection. There is something environmental in play and we can control a huge part of that. More than 85,000 chemicals have been introduced into commerce since World War II and almost 90 percent of those ingredients have never been tested for safety on human health. THIS is why we do what we do at Beautycounter. It’s perfectly legal for companies to use harmful ingredients linked to cancer in the products we use on our skin every single day. BEAUTYCOUNTER’S MISSION IS TO GET SAFER PRODUCTS INTO THE HANDS OF EVERYONE. It’s time to stop cancer in its tracks.
