Student Run Health Clinic (SRHC) is a non-profit organization that has provided free, long-term medical care to low-income and homeless Riverside populations for over 7 years. SRHC is a member of the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) and is partnered with Project FOOD, a non-profit organization committed to providing free meals to the homeless and indigent population of Riverside. Project Food is held every other Wednesday followed by SRHC from 5 pm to 9 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 3755 Lemon St, Riverside CA 92501. In general, Riverside is a multicultural community with little health care available to low income or uninsured patients other than the emergency room of the local hospital. Our clinic serves a diverse patient population of over 400 men and women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Most of these patients are homeless, living on the streets in the downtown area or under overpasses or bridges. Our clinic is their only free reliable source of follow-up medical care, dental care and prescription medications that otherwise they cannot afford.
Our volunteer staff includes a number of medical, dental, and pharmacy students from different health sciences schools in the Inland Empire. All these students are working under supervision of Board Certified physicians, dentists, and pharmacists practicing in the Riverside area.
In addition to grants, we depend on the kindness and generosity of individuals, businesses, and corporations in order to raise the funds necessary to provide prescription medications, medical supplies, laboratory tests and for keeping SRHC running for another year.
Thank you for your consideration to give back to the community of the Inland Empire. We appreciate your support in our efforts to provide free and accessible healthcare to the underserved population of our community. As a token of gratitude, you will be recognized in our Annual Banquet for your contribution.
