Dear Friends and Family, as many of you know, I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2004. Since my diagnosis, my MS progression has been fairly slow, however, I am noticing some change. This year I was given the opportunity to participate in a program at the University of Kansas Medical Center called the Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center (MSAC). This is a comprehensive program for adults with MS that combines physical therapy, occupational therapy, emotional support and cognitive stimulation on a weekly basis. Although the University of Kansas provides physical space, the program must depend on grants, a minimal participant fee and, most importantly, fundraising for their daily operations.
On February 25th, there will be a fundraiser called "The Race to Nowhere"; a timed stationary bike race to raise support for the MSAC. Altough I won't be riding, I do have a "team", and, if you could make a donation to my team, I and my fellow MSers at the MSAC would greatly appreciate any support you could give.
