BENEFITING: Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders (ABOARD)
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
THE STORY:
I have been working with children who have autism and their families for my 15 year career as a speech pathologist. It's not always been easy, but it has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
I will be running in my first half marathon on May 4th. It’s important to me to make my miles count, so I am participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon's Run for a Reason program. To honor the children and families who have made such a difference in my life I have chosen to raise money for ABOARD – the Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders. This organization serves tens of thousands of Pennsylvania families confronted with the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as the professionals who support them.
My goal is to raise $1,300 for ABOARD – that’s $100 for each mile. It’s a huge goal – will you help me reach it? Thank you so much for your support!!
