THE PERFORMANCE PROJECT INC wrote -
Help support the creation, production, and premier of Tenderness; a compelling and timely theatre piece. Through Tenderness, we wish to reach people through their hearts and minds, by aligning individual narratives within a structure that presents humanity's capacity for both violence, and for extraordinary tenderness.
TENDERNESS AT A GLANCE: An original multi-lingual physical theater piece being developed by First Generation Ensemble, a group of youth ages 16 to 22 from Haiti, South Sudan, Burundi, Guinea, and the US. Tenderness explores the dehumanization at the core of violence, while also revealing the power of human tenderness and connection as our most powerful human force.

FIRST GENERATION ENSEMBLE
Is a group of young adults who may be the first in their family to grow up in the US, to speak English, graduate high school, go to college, be incarcerated, not be incarcerated in several generations, be openly GBLT, be a feminist, among many other firsts.
FIRST GENERATION YOUTH
- Receive intensive ARTISTIC AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING
- Become PEER MENTORS
- Identify ACADEMIC AND LIFE GOALS
- CREATE compelling, multilingual, physical theater that engages the public in dialogs on social and cultural issues
- Claim a PUBLIC VOICE through performing and hosting events
- Develop a critical analysis on SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES
- First Generation community CELEBRATES connection and our full humanity through the arts!
