We Have Reached The $3,000 Goal. Now Let's Reach For Higher Heights
October 21, 2016
BENEFITING: St. Paul's United Methodist Church
EVENT DATE: Sep 25, 2016
I have become aware that people in Liberia walk up to 5 miles a day for access to clean water. Yes, closer water sources often exist, however they are stagnant dangerous bodies of water.
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, in Rochester, Michigan (where I am an active member) is on a mission to provide funding to drill, install and maintain 16 wells across Liberia. Each well will cost about $3,000, which will provide clean water for approximately 40,000 people in Liberia.
We have set a church wide goal of raising $50,000 for these wells and as you might imagine, this is a monumental task. We are up for the task because we feel that access to clean water is an important component to global health. Every $1.25 we raise provides access to clean water for one person.
The following link will provide you access to more information on Water for Life, if you would like to learn more.
To support this effort I am training and will be running in the Brooksie Way 10K, on September 25.
I could certainly use your support to come cheer me on if you are looking for something to do this fall and want to enjoy the Oakland University area, in Rochester, Michigan, where the Brooksie Way is being held.
If you feel like you might like to make a contribution towards Water for LIfe and support the efforts of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, visit the following link.
