Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) provides supplemental targeted programs in all eleven public schools in Sandy Springs. SSEF creates programs at the request of a principal to meet the needs of their school population and collaborates with community organizations and businesses to bring programs to fruition. Programs run either during the school year or the summer. SSEF is financially responsible, in partnership with the school, for gaining community resources to support each program.
Programs are offered in the following areas:
-Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM). Enrichment includes an annual community-wide STEAM Showcase, after-school STEAM programs in all 11 schools and STEAM related field trips designed to inspire students to pursue these in-demand career fields.
-Literacy programs. These include our community volunteer Reading Buddies program and the Mini-Libraries Program, in which we donate an average of 14,000 books annually to needy students.
-After School programs. Middle and high school students receive academic tutoring and enrichment opportunities.
-Mentoring programs designed to support students in making post-secondary plans as well as to teach them about various career fields.
SSEF serves the 10,200 students in Sandy Springs public schools which include two high schools, two middle schools and seven elementary schools. With over 50% of our Sandy Springs public school students considered economically disadvantaged, SSEF continues to develop substantive ways to make a difference in our students' academic lives.
