**Special Note**
The Charity that our money goes to has released a comment regarding our project!!! The Charity as stated on our front page is the Chernobyl Children International inc.
"With the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster coming up in 2011, it is more important than ever that people understand that communities in the affected regions continue to suffer medically, economically, and socially. We so much appreciate this effort to bring attention to the aftermath of the disaster. And even more important, the support the hope that lies ahead."
**Special Note**
The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear accident of catastrophic proportions that occurred on 26 April 1986, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine (then in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the Soviet Union). It is considered the worst nuclear power plant accident in history and is the only level 7 event on the International Nuclear Event Scale.
We are not asking for you to donate huge ammounts of money, or make chernobyl apart of your yearly donations, we are just asking for anything. Anything, besides nothing, helps!
Because of where this event happened and the secrecy, much of the world does not know the ongoing effects of this has on people and mainly children, with generations to come.
We will try our best to make this a safe and enjoyable place to get information on Chernobyl, and share with you our projects to raise money for such an important cause.
Always remember, when you donate here, you are automatically entered for chances to win great prizes as seen here: http://www.crowdrise.com/give/promotions

I lived in Germany (West, back then) when this tragedy happened. It was terrifying. My heart goes out to the people affected, then and now. 9 years ago
