On June 23rd, I'll be participating in a 2K swim in memory of two mentors, Leslie Fass Ederer and Chad Quartuccio. Throughout their careers, these two New York Public Library veterans promoted literacy, books, and storytelling while supporting thousands of New York city's families.
Every year for the past twelve years I have swam in support of this program.
As a Spectrum donor, you directly support leaders working to:
- Ensure that all people, communities and their humanity are reflected in our archives and cultural institutions.
- Position libraries as gateways not gatekeepers for immigrants, refugees, and undocumented students.
- Build strong professional networks that support retention and establish brave spaces for honest conversation about how much still needs to be done.
Help ALA keep serving as a powerful voice for our future. Please consider making a contribution and supporting my 2019 swim for Spectrum!
