SO close to doubling our goal! We're doing it!
August 08, 2017
South Florida Wildlife Center is the nation’s highest-volume wildlife trauma hospital and rehabilitation center, admitting about 13,000 animals and as many as 250 species each year. Our professional team provides state-of-the art veterinary care and expert rehabilitation to an extensive variety of animals, ranging from birds, including songbirds, pelicans, herons, ibis, owls, hawks, to mammals like raccoons, opossums, squirrels , armadillos, and foxes. Thousands of those patients are orphaned infants who we hand-rear and prepare for release back into the wild.
We are also the tri-county area’s wildlife information center. Our Resource Center specialists field calls about re-nesting displaced animals and rescuing injured wildlife as well as offer advice on how to live harmoniously with our wild neighbors. And, we train veterinary and rehabilitation students from all over the world. All of our efforts are supported by hundreds of volunteers.
In order to give our patients the privacy and solitude they need to heal, and to preserve their wild natures, we cannot generate revenue to support our live-saving work through admission fees, nor do we receive government support. SFWC is funded by foundations, businesses, and people like you! We are excited about this fundraising challenge and the potential it has to bring much-needed financial support to this remarkable place. Your participation in this challenge will help ensure that native wildlife, so important to our ecosystem, will be here for generations to come.
With your donation, you will become part of a movement that is making a real, cognizable, and significant impact on South Florida’s injured wildlife and the animal families that are being displaced by a growing population and encroaching development. Please help us fundraise and please donate to help us continue this important work!
