I grew up in a privileged home, so going to school on a regular basis to learn all those "boring" things never really crossed my mind as something that was amazing. However, over the past few years, I had volunteered myself to teach a few kids about the essence of learning - and the looks and enthusiasm that the little ones portrayed was something to be truly inspired by.
Those kids had little to no opportunity to gain the access of a CONTINUOUS education, only able to "go to school" once every superbly random blue moon. I speak from the heart when I say that I truly want to help the unreached children who yearn and seek to learn and it only breaks my heart when these goals are not achieved.
The reason of why poverty is becoming a huge epidemic in the world today is because these children are in serious need of your help, to enable them to grasp onto that hope that is the rest of us - the power of helping others in need.
Sophia and Adam have stated their goals and they couldn't have said them in any other way- watch their videos! Read about their works with Pencils of Promise - and learn how you could extend your helping hand - you don't have to create the biggest grand gesture to create a huge hole from the pocket - the power of spreading the word, creating a bigger team would be the biggest empowerment towards creating the difference that is much, much needed.
Let us help the organisation to strive and thrive for the vision of their mission - to give an education to the little ones. Look at their faces! How could you possibly resist helping them? :)

Mozilla Firefox is giving away $50,000 to the fundraiser that raises the most right now! Please, please, please donate and help me rally up support for Pencils of Promise and help build a new school in Guadalupana!
Check out the leaderboard here and help me get to first!
I attended an impact trip to Guadalupana and what struck me immediately was just how high need the community is. And that's where my Impossible came from. Could I raise the money to build a school? One three-room structure costs $30,000.
I volunteered to give my 30th birthday to PoP and we were able to build two new schools and make such an incredible impact for these children. I'm so in love with the work that PoP is doing that I want to help more.
Get involved however you can. Give up a $4 latte. Tell your parents you'll do all the laundry for a week. Throw a bake sale. A lemonade stand. A car wash. Spread the word in your community. Your voice is the most powerful tool in the world. So shout it from the rooftops team!
Whatever it takes. Let's win this challenge for Pencils of Promise!
