BENEFITING: GLOBAL AUTISM PROJECT
ORGANIZER: GLOBAL AUTISM PROJECT
SkillCorps Volunteers traveling to Nicaragua in July of 2017 will be assisting with training in the CIE Center for children with autism in Managua. The center is run by a fantastic team of clinicians and volunteers who are thirsty for the expertise of our SkillCorps team! Volunteers train staff in ABA Therapy, a specific behavior therapy shown to increase quality of life in children with autism.
Help me help make a difference! I have been blessed with the opportunity to contribute to this mission as a volunteer with previous clinical experience with ABA Therapy. I have seen firsthand how effective this treatment is in improving social communication among this population time and time again. The demand for volunteers with this type of experience is high over the globe, not only due to the highest rates of diagnosed autism we have ever experienced to date, but also because cultural acceptance over the world of the actual existence of autism and newly opened centers are always increasing. Many of these countries are underdeveloped or still developing, so volunteer based organizations such as these are key to helping these new centers acquire the latest training and education in how best to manage this condition and help these children to reach their highest potential.
Any amount is a huge help, and I appreciate all the support from all you amazing people greatly!!!
