We use the power of SINGING to help at-risk kids dramatically improve their reading.
Tampa Bay Times has proclaimed Pinellas County, to be the worst county in Florida to attend public school for youth of color. Since that time, the reading achievement statistics of Black vs. Non-black students has been published by the school district every year. Sadly, over this period, the amount of progress made has been effectively zero.
Sing Out and READ is a literacy non-profit that is working hard to give these students a fighting chance at success in school as they strive to close the READING achievement gap.
This Summer, we are scaling up our Family Literacy Project (FLiP) to serve more families. We need to raise $5,000 thousand dollars to serve these families. All it takes is $500 to sponsor a low-income family to use the Family Literacy Project tablet and the award-winning reading improvement program, Tune Into Reading.
Let’s be part of the solution.
Our hopes are in your generosity to help close this major achievement gap in Pinellas County. Each contribution truly enables our work-we are so grateful for all donations.
