We are thrilled to serve as Event Chairs for the 19th Annual March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction Dallas to be held on Thursday, October 30 at the Omni Dallas Hotel. Along with Lead Chef Kent Rathbun, we are excited to take the No. 1 Signature Chefs in the nation to another level and we would be honored if you would help us on this journey.
Signature Chefs was a huge success in 2013 raising more than $750,000 for the March of Dimes Dallas Division. While we and Glass Vodka have supported many Seattle charities since we first moved to the area in 1996,this will be our Dallas chairing debut! It would absolutely mean the world to us if our friends and family in the great Northwest and around the country support our success in this one-of-a-kind Crowdrise campaign. Glass Vodka is sponsoring some wonderful gifts for your participation, and the growing success of Glass throughout the country is in no small part attributed to your local support of the brand.
For more than 75 years, the March of Dimes has been dedicated to improving the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. With its original mission of eradicating polio in the U.S. accomplished, March of Dimes turned its focus to preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Since March of Dimes began its prematurity awareness campaign in 2003, the nation’s preterm birth rate has dropped for the sixth consecutive year to an all-time low of 11.5% - the lowest it has been in nearly a decade. This is significant and encouraging news, but the United States still has the highest rate of preterm birth of any industrialized country. Premature birth remains a serious health problem for nearly half a million babies each year and costs society more than $26 billion annually in excess health care costs.
