Shot@Life is a campaign to give children around the world the shot at life they deserve by providing vaccines to four deadly diseases.
My girls and I are going the distance on February 23rd in the hope that you'll help us to help kids hit milestones in their lives like learning to walk, saying their first words, and going to their first day of school. My 9 year old is running her first 5K at the Disney Royal Family 5K (We're running as Pocahontas and Meeko), My littlest Princess is running her first 400m ("For speed!" she says), and I'll finish the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon as Princess Jasmine.
Your donation goes through Shot@Life to directly fund UNICEF & GAVI Alliance programs to distribute vaccines. Your gift would:
- Protect a child from polio and measles for his lifetime for only $5
- Pay for vaccines to protect a child from the two most deadly diseases – pneumonia and diarrhea for just $15
- Give a child a lifetime of immunity to protect her from pneumonia, diarrhea, polio and measles for $20
- Protect three children from these four diseases for a donation of $60
Can you believe that this year, 1.7 million children will die from diseases that have all but disappeared in the U.S.? And that we could cross the finish line on ending polio in my girls' lifetime?
Please help us make a difference today! Support the girls in their first races and me in my last long-distance charity race to help us raise $5000...enough to protect 250 kids from easily preventable diseases.
P.S. Enjoy the pictures of my trip to Uganda with Shot@Life and our Disney running costumes. Check back for updates as we complete them and our video about why we support Shot@Life!
