Today, we have an opportunity to show our support for women in sports and in particular, women in motorsport. I’ve made a commitment to represent and encourage female racing drivers during this year’s Women’s Sports Foundation Athlete Face Off Charity Challenge!
We’re going head-to-head against many high level female athletes of various sports to collectively help raise funding for the WSF Travel & Training Program. The funding raised will directly help offset athlete’s expenses to further excel in their sport such as coaching, equipment and travel.
So, I’m calling on our passionate and understanding motorsports community to join me in raising a minimum goal of $1,000 to support the current and the new generation of female drivers. The fundraising competition takes place during the season of giving, November 16 – December 4, 2015.
I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to take part in this challenge and hope you’ll join us. The foundation holds a very special place in my heart. During the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge Championships my team and I contested for the TCA Championship and thanks to the support from WSF's Women in the Winners Cirlce Project Podium Grant we went on to finish 2nd place!
I fully understand the physical and financial burdens motorsport brings. I’m also familiar with the overwhelming sense of achievement and gratitude when everyone’s hard work pays off.
Join us in supporting talented, yet underfunded, women pursue the highest levels of achievements in their respected sports.
