The Sgt BAM Foundation is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization established in memory of Sgt Alex Bahmandeji (Sgt BAM) by his mother. The Foundation exists to SUPPORT veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD), SERVE them through our fundraising efforts, and HONOR those we have lost so they may never be forgotten.
Maggie Bahmandeji started the Sgt BAM Foundation in loving memory of her son, US Army Staff Sergeant Alex Bahmandeji who served two tours of duty. Because of his long last name, Alex was known to his soldiers as Sgt BAM for short. After his death on December 9, 2014, Maggie wanted to do something meaningful to honor the memory of her son. Alex himself suffered from Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and Maggie was keenly aware of the challenges of veterans living with PTSD. She simply had to do something about it. That’s how the Sgt BAM Foundation was born. Maggie works tirelessly sharing the mission of the Foundation and holding fundraising events.
