BENEFITING: SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC HEALTH FOUNDATION
An SFDS campaign. Proceeds go to Project Homeless Connect's denture program.
Employment options for people missing teeth or in chronic pain are few and far between. A full and functional set of teeth is critical for taking steps toward self-reliance and good health.
You have the power to end homelessness, and it starts here.
“I have not had teeth for over 7 years. After 48 years of being in pain, suffering abscesses, cavities, pain and bleeding of the gums and around the teeth, I had them all pulled, all 26 at the same time. All the infection from the abscesses flowed into my bloodstream and I ended up in the hospital-I almost died.”
“It hurts not to have teeth because I only have one eye and am deaf in one ear. Without teeth, I feel something is wrong with me. I don’t feel good about myself. Having teeth would give me dignity. Having teeth will help me to feel better about myself. I want a beautiful smile.”
After treatment by SFDS volunteers, Ian is thrilled with his new dentures and very excited about his new smile...he says they feel great and that he feels great about them. Ian says he is getting lots of compliments and his confidence is up now that he has his dentures. His smile radiates – a life changed!
You can give someone like Ian a smile for as little as $500.
