Thanks for checking out my Mt. Rainier climb supporting Big City Mountaineers! For those that don't know me, I'm Seth, and I've been a firefighter in Central Ohio for the last 15 years. Anyone who does know me knows that I have an affinity for adventure and for the outdoors. It's important for me to channel some of that ambition into something bigger than me, and hopefully give someone else the opportunity to have life-changing experiences of their own. Several years ago I was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Unfortunately, the only definitive fix for this is a transplant, which I am currently on a waiting list for. Having a serious disease can really put things in perspective, not the least of which is realizing how important it is to get moving on those plans you keep puting off. I've been following BCM for several years, and I truly believe in their mission. Your tax-deductable donation goes to fund wilderness trips and mentoring programs for inner-city kids. I'm still responsible for my airfare, lodging, meals, equipment and any funds not raised through donations, so any amount helps a lot. Check out Big City Mountaineers here:
Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions, and thanks for your consideration!!
Big City Mountaineers transforms the lives of under-resourced urban youth through wilderness mentoring expeditions that instill critical life skills. We partner with community-based youth organizations and caring adult volunteers who act as mentors in the field to help young people realize their potential. Our curriculum improves integrity, self- esteem, responsibility, decision-making abilities and communication skills in close to 1,000 youth annually.
