Service Industry Workers Advocates of NC was born out of the Covid-19 crisis, when founder and president Nick Stroud raised almost $60,000 on GoFundMe to help service industry workers in NC weather the shutdowns. He was able to distribute almost all of the funds, less the cost of doing business, to over 400 service industry workers within the first few months of the pandemic. Nick then got to work making SIWANC into a full fledged 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, with the goal of continuing to help and advocate for service industry workers past the pandemic. But, for now, SIWANC has launched a new fundraiser to help service industry workers weather the "winter of Covid". More to come on the post-pandemic programs and initiatives SIWANC will undertake in the beginning of next year! With your support, we can help make sure that we have service industry workers who are mentally and financially prepared to come back to work when the pandemic is over. Thanks for your time!
