I am honored to serve as a celebrity team leader in the 10th Annual Run for a Safe Haven on Saturday, October 26th at William Land Park benefiting My Sister’s House. As the only domestic violence shelter for Asian Pacific Islander women and children impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking in the Sacramento community, My Sister’s House provides a safe haven and support services to help get survivors stabilized financially and emotionally.
Working as your County Supervisor, I address issues such as mental health, law enforcement and child protection. All too often, I hear of desperate situations involving domestic violence and the toll it takes on entire families. That’s why when asked to be a celebrity team leader for the 10th Annual Run for a Safe Haven, I immediately agreed. Our county is best served when all facets of our community – including local non-profits – have the resources necessary to help people in need.
