Immigrant women make up a large portion of this population, and yet, face continuous challenges in obtaining critical and necessary services.
The collective empowerment model is an integral component of our organization it consists of providing each new client/member with education/resource, leadership trainings, workshops and ends with each member who participated having the tools necessary to become a community leader and role model.
It takes a person from a victim to survivor to community activist.
Participants coming to SEPA Mujer seeking immigration legal assistance have been the victims of a crime many other women brought to our offices by our current members. Through education, our collective empowerment model, and resources, these new members began to participate in SEPA Mujer’s monthly meetings, in local campaigns/actions, and participated in the leadership training.
Throughout the year, SEPA Mujer’s members, including the participants of the leadership training will be participating in community advocacy efforts organized by SEPA Mujer and our partner organizations. It is the organization’s goal to continue doing the systemic work along with our members and partner organizations in the upcoming year as issues arise in the communities we serve.
Please help us help our Latina Immigrant community for the benefit of the entire community.
With your donation, it will help our small organization pay for transportation for our members, printed materials, community events efforts, food, forums and many more resources that our organization needs to help be a solid support base for our members.
