I run for The SOUTH BOSTON NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE (The Ollie)
Training for this marathon in the Boston winter has been exceptionally challenging! But, what we go through is little relative to the daily challenges faced by the wonderful staff at the Ollie who selflessly put themselves in front of the many problems facing our neighbors in South Boston.
The Ollie is a small organization with a big heart and a bigger impact. One of Boston’s original historic settlement houses, the Ollie was founded in 1901 and has survived the Depression and the Great Recession with a mission ‘to support family and neighborhood life in South Boston’. Affectionately known as “the Ollie” after our founder, Olivia James, the Neighborhood House is known for the deep ties and connections among participants and families that have endured for generations. Today, the Neighborhood House impacts the lives of 2,000 individuals each year from infants to nonagenarians.
Please be generous.
