BENEFITING: 211 San Diego
EVENT DATE: Oct 10, 2016
For every $10 donated, your name will be entered into a raffle for a signed football by our special guest keynote, 2-time Super Bowl Champion, Peyton Manning! Furthermore, random donators will be chosen throughout the conference to win a brand new FitBit Surge.
Every year, over 1,000 utility professionals, thought leaders and SAP experts gather at our industry-leading conference, SAP for Utilities. We all know, first-hand, how utility organizations go above and beyond to serve the communities in which they operate. And much like your organizations support local charities, we felt it was our turn – as the greater utilities community – to support a deserving non-profit in our host city.
This year, with the support of our host utility, Sempra Energy, we will launch our inaugural SAP4U 1 Mile Charity Walk to support the great work of 2-1-1 San Diego. We’ve set the lofty goal of raising $5,000 – and hope you’ll join us in hitting it!
Every day our industry makes an impact on communities worldwide. Let’s together make a lasting impact on 2-1-1 San Diego by making a pledge today. Thank you, and see you in Huntington Beach!
If you decide to donate, please include the name of your organization in the scroll bar. The utility that pledges the highest amount will be recognized at our Evening Under the Stars reception at SAP for Utilities. Thank you!
Make a donation today, and The Parker Foundation will match it 100% up to $75,000. That means if you donate $50, 2-1-1 will receive $100!
2-1-1 San Diego is a free, 24 hour, confidential phone service and online searchable database. As a trusted, local, nonprofit organization with strong community partners, 2-1-1 San Diego is able to connect people to over 15,000 community, health, basic needs, and disaster services. In times of disaster, 2-1-1 San Diego becomes the community’s non-emergency, disaster information source, providing up-to-the-minute incident status updates working to connect callers to the resources they need.
In 2007, 2-1-1 became a partner of the County of San Diego Office of Emergency Services to serve as the public’s non-emergency, disaster information hotline, connecting 122,000 San Diegans to needed resources during the 2007 Firestorm. Most recently, during the 2014 fires, 2-1-1 provided up to the minute information about status of the fires, evacuations, road closures and shelter information to over 33,500 callers. On a national level, 2-1-1’s disaster response history is extensive, assisting other 2-1-1’s during Hurricanes Katrina, Gustav, Ike, and Sandy, the ice storms in the Southeast and floods in the Midwest.
During the evolution of 2-1-1 services, we realized that we can best serve our clients and our community by moving to a person-centric model of service delivery and technology. We are developing state-of-the art technology and facilitating the creation of a longitudinal client record. The new technology will unify organizations by utilizing the exchange of data, outcomes, resources, solutions, and knowledge all in an effort to help one person at a time! With this technology we can offer a better client experience and build efficiency across care providers in an effort to powerfully heal the whole person. We can achieve this goal but we need YOUR help!
