Sandy & 3 kids suddenly lost beloved husband and father
Organized by: Karen Otte
Sandy Bierle's beloved husband and the kids' father, Steve Bierle, died in a terrible accident at the beach yesterday. Sandy and her three boys (Drew, 16, Ben, 13, and Shane, 8) are suddenly on their own. While on vacation at the beach in Shelter Cove in Northern California, Steve drowned after saving their son, Ben, from the ocean. Ben made it to shore with a broken arm and bruised eyebrow. But, sadly, Steve could not escape from the rocks and waves.
Sandy will continue to run the couple's adventure company at Yellowstone National Park, The Flying Pig, in Gardiner, Montana. Her husband Steve was instrumental in making the company go! Sandy will need lots of support running their business, while grieving the loss of her husband and helping their boys grieve the loss of their dad.
Sandy's best friend, Wendy Burke, was vacationing with her family and the couple. She and her family witnessed the accident and, thankfully, was there offering Sandy and her boys support. She says that Steve, "was such a dynamic person; we still need him!"
Caitlin Dorsett, a friend of the Bierle's, posted on Facebook:
"Steve Bierle was undoubtedly one of the best men I've ever met. An incredibly caring boss, a devoted husband, and a selfless father. I am lucky to have spent time with him and his family, and I will cherish his friendship for the rest of my life. I think I speak for the entire Flying Pig crew when I say that the opportunities he and Sandy granted me are priceless, and I am a better person for the time I spent working for them in Gardiner. Thank you, Steve."
Please help support Sandy and her boys in loving memory of Steve. Pray, donate any amount no matter how small, send loving vibes, or take a trip to Yellowstone and visit the family's business, Flying Pig Adventure Company! www.flyingpigrafting.com.
