Salute the Troops recently had a veteran come to us for assistance to repair his truck which brakes have failed. It is the farm truck so has been out of commission for about 6 months. The vet lives in Oostburg and works at Mercury Marine 2nd shift. We got the vet to bring his truck to a repair shop in Fond du Lac that said they are willing to help veterans. The estimated repair cost is $1,800. This repair is in progress.

Today, 9Aug16 the vet contacted us and said his well pump failed. He lives on a farm with his girlfriend and 5 kids. They have no running water, no toilet flush water, and no water for the animals. The vet took off work today so he could figure out what is wrong and what to do. He has had an electrician that works on well pumps and water systems at his farm all day. The estimated repair cost is $1,600. He is working on reducing this cost by doing some of the work himself but for now they have no water. The vets girlfriend's adult daughter has gone to the lake to get water for the animals. She takes the kids to local businesses to use the toilets. Also, the daughter is selling some of her furniture to raise money.
