Help me as I join Project Sleep to 'SLEEP IN' for sleep health and sleep disorders during National Sleep Awareness Week. (Wow, what a mouthful) I am challenging myself to stay in bed for 52 hours over the weekend of March 6-8, and I'm asking for your help and support. First, I want you to evaluate your own sleep habits and add 1 or 2 extra hours of sleep on each of those days. Second, please go out and sponsor an hour of my sleep. Each and every dollar goes towards research into sleep disorders such as Narcolepsy.
1 in 2000 people have narcolepsy and many don't know it. Most symptoms start showing when a person is in their teens and early twenties causing problems at school or work. How many children have been labeled lazy or unmotivated instead of being diagnosed? What if that were your child?
Some people run or walk to fundraise, but why not receive support and encouragement to SLEEP IN? Whether you are a family member, friend, sleep professional or sleep enthusiast, your help matters.
By participating in Project Sleep’s SLEEP IN, I am joining an international movement of people looking to make peace with sleep.
Go to Protect Sleep's page if you'd like to find out even more. Project Sleep will be in bed all weekend, empowering sleep advocates and connecting with participants around the world via social media (#SleepIn). Kendall Patrick and the Headless Bettys will perform a special SLEEP IN performance via Google hangouts on Sunday March 8th, 2015.
