The St. Martin's Animal Foundation (SMAF) was established in June 1999 due to the rising numbers of animals being abused and in despair. We opened our sanctuary in Acton, CA which became home to many abused and misunderstood animals.
Sixteen months ago we had to close our beloved sanctuary due to the wildfires that continually threatened the safety of our animals. Since then I have been desperately searching for a place to relocate my sanctuary, as affordable land that will accommodate an animal sanctuary, is extremely difficult to find. Thankfully, we were able to find land to rent in Southern Utah (7 hours away from these dogs) which is now being used as our temporary home until we can find affordable land in Southern California. For now, Utah is home.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 in order to continue our life saving work. We urgently need to acquire a new, permanent sanctuary so we can continue with our passionate mission of saving animals and our vital public humane educational programs.
