The Rock Club Music Is The Remedy is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of Veterans, at-risk youth and other groups through music instruction, education, and mentoring. Rock For Vets, a music education program for Veterans of all ages and abilities, commenced in 2010 and based at the Long Beach Scottish Rite. Has over 65 active Veterans in the program. 2. Choir with the members of the Long Beach Rescue Mission, over 60 members trained. 3. The Rock Club, an after school youth music program for at-risk, three LBUSD schools currently involved, over 125 youth participants. Through its work in the Long Beach area, The Rock Club Rock For Vets has gained understanding and knowledge with the introduction of music as a new form of healing. Veterans and At-risk youth both share a common traits that need to develop character, provide a sense of teamwork and build self-esteem. Our music program has also developed into a musical program within the Los Angeles County Jail, as a successful trial/pilot program, with over 75 inmates participated and performed for Sheriff Baca. Also recognized by Gene Simmons from Kiss and A&E’s Family Jewels TV show and created our own episode called ‘Kiss a Vet’. We have won many local and national awards in the VA Healthcare System and have performed for Mayor Foster, Mayor Garcia, and Mayor Villaraigosa and performed at Veterans Stadium, USS Iowa twice, Signal Hill Park, three Boeing facilities and many more. The Rock Club Rock For Vets has a long standing record of doing good for the community through its past accolades and achievements. Our board members are also very active and all give time and funding to this cause. We look forward to opportunities to grow our programs to have a bigger impact.
