Run for Brave Maeve
Organized by: Caitlin Flood
Maeve Smart was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) when she was 11 years old. She fought bravely through chemo and reconstructive surgeries and she was cancer free until May 2014. At 14 years old, Maeve was diagnosed with a recurrence of osteosarcoma and underwent an amputation of her right leg to prevent the spread of cancer. Brave Maeve is receiving chemo treatments for a second time at Sloan Kettering in NYC. Please help us fundraise for a prosthetic leg to get Maeve moving forward! We will be running in the NYCRUNS Running Festival of Lights that takes place on Nov 23, 2014 at Shore Road and 69th St. in Brooklyn, NY. For more information about the run, please visit https://nycruns.com/races/?race=festival-lights-2014. All of the proceeds will go directly to the Smart family for Maeve's prosthetic leg and other medical needs. Thank you for your contributions and support.
