Run2Heal TBI: Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor Lynn Crisci
Team Member: Meghan Bildner
EVENT DATE Apr 18, 2016
April 15th 2013 was a life changing day for so many people. I was heading towards the finish line to cheer on my friend. Crowds of people were out on the streets supporting the 117th running of the Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon. I was about to turn the corner to the street that would lead us to the finish line. Then I heard the first bomb go off.
I learned a lot of lessons that day. If anything was timed 15 minutes differently, I could have been right there. Day to day decisions can have a huge impact. I also learned that life is so short and can change in an instant. My goal became to one day run a Boston Marathon for someone who was impacted by the horrific event.
So here is my chance...please join us in supporting Lynn Crisci, a Boston Marathon bombing survivor named one of SELF magazine's "Most Inspirational Women to Ever Run the Boston Marathon." Lynn was one of the hundreds of survivors of the attack, escaping with a painful lower back injury, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), hearing loss and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Lenore Tsikitas and I have a joint goal to raise $6,000 and your donations will go towards Lynn Crisci's ongoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and Transmagnetic Cranial Stimulation (TMS) she needs for continued healing.
