Ruby Red, Emotional Support Dog
BENEFITING: Austin Dog Alliance
THE STORY:
After servicing in the US Air Force, Matt has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress. Symptoms include chronic pain, nightmares, avoidance, and hyper-arousal reactions.
Austin Dog Alliance, Hounds for Heroes program trains dogs to mitigate the symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTS), anxiety and or depression. Each dog performs tasks that enable their partner to lead a more "normal" life.
Ruby is a very well-trained and extremely affectionate; young dog being trained as an Emotional Support Dog. If all goes according to plan, Ruby will be placed with Matt in April 2017.
Training of service dogs is very expensive ($2,500 for Emotional Support dog). Please contribute to Ruby’s training to help Matt to function in our overstimulated world!
