1ST ANNUAL ROCKY MOUNTAIN FLYATHLON
EVENT DATE: Aug 16, 2014
The Flyathlon represents a synthesis of three of the West's greatest leisure activities; trail running, fly-fishing, and craft beer. Like its close cousin, the triathlon, the premise is simple... Trail running to fly fishing, followed by recovery beer…
This year, our sport goes mainstream. The 1st Annual "Official" Rocky Mountain Flyathlon will take place near this August. (Technically, there was a first "unofficial" annual event last summer; see www.flyathlon.com for pictures and details) This year's event has already sold out, so we will have 40 flyathletes take to the woods near Saguache, Colorado to try to catch brook trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, and perhaps even the elusive Rio Grande cutthroat trout.
This year's event will raise money for Colorado's premiere coldwater conservation organization, Colorado Trout Unlimited (www.coloradotu.org). Please consider contributing to this campaign to help protect one of Colorado's finest resources, our coldwater rivers and streams.
