I really want to rappel down the side of the Maverick headquarters in the middle of their workday again.
But, I'd also donate with no promised harness and adrenaline rush because this is that darn important to me.
It's a bittersweet twist to experience something awful, and in the process discover that you can make a difference for the next poor soul to be dragged through that particular bit of mud.
If you're reading this, it's probably because you've been in that mud, or you helped pull a loved one out of that mud. You get it.
Give a little (or a lot) to support the way too many violence victims working their way through the aftermath, or sign up for your own rockstar rappel.
The Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center provides a centralized hub of information, support, and resources critical to dealing with the muddy aftermath.
As a therapist who has specialized in nonprofit operations, I am seriously picky in who I give money to. These folks are on my short list (and only a tiny bit because of the helmet-required Instagram action shots).
This time, I'm determined to get creative with the photo-op.
