Rochester Field Hockey
University of Rochester Field Hockey & Houghton College Field Hockey will Play4TheCure, October 10th at 7pm. Each year, in partnership with the NFHCA, hundreds of field hockey teams dedicate a game or an event to Play4TheCure. What started as a Field Hockey tournament in Philadelphia honoring the players’ parents who were battling cancer, has grown into a national athletic movement bringing together teams, opponents, and communities to support cancer research. Over the last two years, field hockey teams alone have helped Play4TheCure raise well over $250,000 for cancer research. Play4TheCure is the sport fundraising platform of the National Foundation for Cancer Research that inspires young athletes and their teams to leverage their passion for sports to “Play4” loved ones affected by cancer and encourages them to actively participate in working to fund cancer research to make a difference. Through Play4TheCure, 100% of donations go directly to scientists conducting research for a CURE. University of Rochester Field Hockey has opted to donate 100% of donations to Breast Cancer research.
