Run for Ronald, Run for a Reason
To chase PRs. To one-up my husband. To have a good excuse to travel... and go to bed early on Friday nights... and consume excessive quantities of peanut butter pretzels.
These are all reasons I've trained for and run marathons in the past.
But this time, I'm also running for pediatric cancer patients and their families... so they have a home away from home when they travel to prestigious NYC hospitals for treatment.
I visited my first Ronald McDonald House last winter and frankly, I was impressed. The house was not just a place to stay, but a FUN one. It reminded me of my own visits to McDonald's Playlands as a kid.
For five-year-old Arianna, who is outspoken and fearless while fighting neutropenia. For Brooke from Texas, who loves pink and animals and battled stage four neuroblastoma. For Carlos, who viewed travelling from his native Puerto Rico to New York City for treatment as a great adventure and beat osteosarcoma. That's why I'm running this time.
Help me help these kids and others like them. We all appreciate your support!
