Richmond County Orchestra, INC

Pursuing the beauty of life

In its continuing effort to enhance the musical and cultural life on Staten Island, the Richmond County Orchestra (RCO) inspires a love of music through fully professional presentations of classical music featuring programmatic activities that encourage interaction with audience and inclusion of local talent. The RCO offers live performances throughout Staten Island, providing its listeners the opportunity to explore a new artistic language and give an outlet to purify both body and soul with classical music.

Part of our concert season is RCO's extensive educational outreach program called: Side-By-Side. This after school outreach program takes place local NYC public schools where students rehearse and perform with the orchestra and its members; giving students the unique perspective of the professional orchestral experience while also passing down the tradition of classical music to the next generation of musicians. Since 2015, our Side-By-Side has been funded by the CASA (Cultural After-School Adventures) initiative through the City Council and DCA. RCO runs two 10-Week Side-By-Side residency programs: one at Curtis High School on Staten Island and Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan.
