It's Done! Thank you everyone.
November 07, 2016
My 9 year old son, Albie was diagnosed with T1 Diabetes in January of this year. Since then i've realised that as well as being smart and funny he also incredibly brave.
T1 diabetes hits people without any warning and is mostly invisible to everyone but the person who has it and the people who care for them. Albie has to constantly manage his blood sugar levels, every morning, every mealtime and every night. Every single day. Too high and he gets very sick. Too low and he gets very sick. He no longer has the luxury of just grabbing some sweets anytime he likes. Despite this he has never complained once and he just gets on with his stuff.
But that's not good enough for him and we want him to have a better life than that.
JDRF is an amazing charity that is working hard to find prevention, easier ways to deal with the disease and ultimately a cure. The signs are looking good for all of these areas and we hope that their work will make Albie's life a lot easier in the future and hopefully, one day, let him eat whatever he pleases when he pleases without doubt or danger.
So, to help, i have to run 26.2 miles on November 6th in NY. Easy by comparison.
And for you to help you have to donate a little bit of hard earned bread to the cause. Even easier.
So, go on, give us your money.
