PACIFIC UNION COLLEGE's Fundraiser:

Every day 10,000 women stand on the streets of Kolkata, India and sell their bodies for money. Some do this to provide support for their families and children, while others are forced and trafficked against their will. These women vary between the ages of 16-30 and are trafficked from Bangladesh, Nepal, and rural India.

REVO at Pacific Union College has chosen to work alongside Freeset in fighting sex trafficking in India. Freeset is a fair trade business that offers employment to the women trapped in Kolkata’s sex trade. Their goal is to see those 10,000 women empowered with the choice to leave a profession they never chose in the first place. At Freeset, they can start new lives, regain dignity in their community, and begin a journey towards healing and wholeness.

REVO’s mission is to give 27 women, who are at risk of being trafficked, a choice to have freedom. We can achieve this by raising $10,023. This goal would provide Freeset with the equipment to create more employment for 27 women to begin new lives. The sooner we raise the money, the sooner these 27 women can be employed with freedom. All profits at Freeset in Kolkata benefit the women providing them with a salary, health insurance and a retirement plan. At Freeset, women can experience freedom.
