The Revive and Thrive Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization modeled after the award winning Ceres Community Project in Sebastopol, California. We launched our Healing Meals for Healthy Communities program in May of 2015 at Park Church in downtown Grand Rapids and have delivered nearly 10,000 meals.
Our mission is to provide free, home-delivered, nutrient-rich meals to those with life-threatening illness (such as cancer) during treatment and recovery. Teens volunteer as teen chefs and prepare the meals which empowers them with healthy eating skills, leadership development and job skills. We provide nutrition education and resources to promote improved cooking and eating behaviors to support survivorship and health in our community.
Healthy, nutrient-dense foods are critical to healing at a time when those who need them most are least able to shop and cook. Revive & Thrive uses organic/chemical free, local foods and seasonal foods whenever possible to insure that the freshest and most nutrient rich whole food is available for our clients as well as to nurture a healthy local food system by supporting our local growers and producers.
