BENEFITING: Retreat, Inc.
Our mission is to break the cycle of violence and end domestic abuse in our community. To reach that goal we are committed to educating and assisting those impacted by violence. This includes shelter for families when needed, counseling for all those affected by violence including children beginning at age 3, and education in our schools and community.
For more than two decades, The Retreat has brought our violence prevention program into area schools. Our workshops engage students at every age level with multi-media, interactive experiences aimed at changing attitudes and building awareness and skills. We discuss bullying, friendships and intimate partner relationships.
Our strong Leadership program for high school and college students provides not only the opportunity to learn about violence prevention, but to bring the message of respect in all relationships to the community at large as presenters. They help create and lead programs for their peers, parents and the general public.
The Retreat’s Take Charge! program provides our clients with financial empowerment education, focusing on their individual needs, from resume writing and interview skills to investing and home purchasing.
We believe that with these skills, every person can become strong and self-confident, with the ability to have healthy relationships with those they love.
