Our teenagers and children need your help. Please support these participants who are taking a stand and making a pledge to live and promote a drug free lifestyle today through May 25th, 2015.
Did you know?
More Americans die from drug-related overdoses than motor vehicle crashes or firearm-related deaths.
Every year, 4,300 teens die of alcohol related causes.
Every day, 120 people die from prescription drug overdose.
Addiction knows no socioeconomic or geographic boundaries and no one is immune. Our children have a right to live drug free – and we, as parents, grandparents, students, educators, business leaders, friends and neighbors have the responsibility to help make that happen. RED RIBBON LIVE DRUG FREE PLEDGE DRIVES are spearheaded and organized by schools and communities across the USA to raise money for drug prevention and support local schools in the process.
This DRIVE is about:
Individuals taking a stand and making a pledge to live and promote a drug free lifestyle
Raising awareness about prevention and addiction,
Empowering young people and their communities to fight back against drug use and abuse, and
Raising funds for both our local schools and National Red Ribbon Week®, the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. Funds raised support the National Family Partnership’s prevention programs and 25% of all funds raised are donated to the local schools that raise the funds.
With underage drinking, illegal drug use, and tobacco use as threatening as ever and abuse of prescription drugs on the rise among our youth, NFP’s Red Ribbon Campaign provides communities across the nation with an opportunity to promote and educate our youth about the dangers associated with these dangers. The NFP Red Ribbon Campaign is a trusted provider of resources for schools nationwide to encourage drug free living and healthy lifestyle choices that benefit all Americans.
About The National Family Partnership
National Family Partnership, formerly the National Federation of Parents for Drug Free Youth, was established as a grassroots, nonprofit organization in 1980 by a handful of concerned and determined parents who were convinced they should begin to play a leadership role in drug prevention. Since its founding thirty-five years ago, NFP has devoted its efforts to the well-being of youth by creating and sponsoring the National Red Ribbon Campaign and more recently, developing the Lock Your Meds Campaign. Today, NFP is a national leader in drug prevention education & advocacy. Our mission is to lead and support our nation’s families and communities in nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug free youth.
