Rebuilding QRI Families - LA Flood 2016
Organized by: QRI LLC
Louisiana doesn't have a name for the Flood that devastated more than 40,000 homes after the sky released 6.9 trillion gallons of water on our cities in one week, but the victims of this horrific disaster do have names. Doug & Mona Martin, Joyce Johnson and Jady & Dawn New (and their 6-mo old baby girl, Audrey) are just a few names in a sea of Louisianians who have lost everything or close to it. None of the above mentioned held flood insurance as none of the above mentioned owned homes within a flood zone. According to The Advocate, “Although a federal aid program to help disaster victims can provide as much as $33,000 per household, typical grants run a fraction of that amount, averaging $8,000 or less.” It is no longer expected, it is a guarantee, that the majority of impacted homeowners in Louisiana will bear most of the cost to rebuild their lives. Please consider donating to the families mentioned above. They are our friends, our co-workers, our family. QRI is setting a goal of $30,000 in hopes that each family can receive $10,000 in aid. All funds will be managed and distributed by QRI’s VP of Finance, Mary Williamson, and our VP of Operations, Kyla James. If you have questions on how to make a non-monetary donation, please contact Mary Ruiz at 225-329-4212 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
