We will be accepting walk-on registrations beginning at 8 AM October 31.

Original goal: $2,300


On October 31st, walk or run to end homelessness for children.


On any given night in Multnomah County, 2,225 children experience homelessness either on the streets, in shelter, doubled up with family or friends, at a transitional housing facility or in an apartment paid for by rent assistance. Because of being homeless, as well as other adverse childhood experiences, these children face greater barriers and obstacles in their education, employment and relationships. On October 31, we will be running and walking to end the cycle of homelessness for these children and their families.


The Race to End Child Homelessness will take place at Mt. Tabor Park on October 31.  Sign-in for the event will open at 8:30 AM at the pavilion in "picnic area A" (view site map).  Parking for the event is located at the amphitheater near picnic area A.  We recommend using the park entrance on SE 69th near Yamhill.  The agenda is as follows:


8:30 AM   Check in opens

9:15 AM   Check in closes

9:30 AM   5k run begins

9:35 AM   Family friendly 1 mile walk begins

10:30 AM Awards ceremony - Prizes awarded to top fundraiser, 5k run 1st place male and female overall and in each age group, and BEST COSTUME!


The Race to End Child Homelessness is organized by an incredible planning committee from the communities connected with New City Initiative, whose mission is engaging faith communities in ending the cycle of homelessness.
